From the Bay Area

Route 80 East toward Reno. In Auburn, take the CA-49 Grass Valley/Placerville exit. At the bottom of this exit ramp, turn left onto CA-193/CA-49 toward Grass Valley. After about 25 miles the highway will go through Grass Valley and Nevada City. Stay on the highway past Nevada City. Instead of turning left on 49 toward Downieville, stay straight, and the road becomes Route 20 toward Truckee. Drive 5 miles on Route 20. Slow down when you see the Five Mile House Restaurant on the right. Turn right at the next driveway, where you will see the Tahoe National Forest and Harmony Ridge Lodge signs.

From Reno

Route 80 West toward Sacramento. Take the CA-20 W exit (Exit 161) toward Nevada City/Grass Valley. Keep right at the fork to go on CA-20. Follow CA-20 for approximately 21.5 miles. Turn left into the driveway, where you will see the Tahoe National Forest and Harmony Ridge Lodge signs.
